METHOD OF RISKS AND OPPORTUNITIES MANAGEMENT IN PROJECTS OF AGROINDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

Abstract

The problem of growing world population and resource limitedness requires the scientists around the world to work on creation of mechanisms to provide the humanity with quality and various foods. Project approach to the agriculture will help to increase the production of horticulture and animal husbandry products both in Ukraine and around the world. Risk management of agricultural projects is extremely important and socially responsible part of work of every project manager. To decrease the loss from risks and unused opportunities it is necessary to develop a convenient range of tools for farmers. In this article we have provided the developed method and described the algorithm of the risks and opportunities management in the projects of agroindustrial complex. This method is based on the use of interactive TOWS matrix, developed by Weihrich, to analyze the project risks and opportunities, and on the basis of the received data it is offered to develop strategies either for obtaining the maximum benefit from the project opportunities or for struggling against the possible project risks or strengthening the project weaknesses. In this article we have also described the scenarios of project opportunities management, which will come in handy for project managers in development of strategies for managing the opportunities in projects of the agroindustrial complex. It is recommended to use the method of risks and opportunities management in projects of the agroindustrial complex on the stage of data planning for projects of small and medium-sized economic entities as a convenient instrument to ensure the timely and adequate response not only on the project risks, but also on opportunities.
