Esporte e vanguardas artísticas: cubismo, Ashcan School e expressionismo Sport and avant-garde art: cubism, the Aschan School and expressionism
Abstract
Considerando que os movimentos artísticos possuem algum grau de coerência interna no que se refere a uma forma peculiar de estabelecer relação com o contexto histórico e com o próprio fazer artístico, esse estudo teve por objetivo discutir a presença do esporte em obras de arte ligadas ao cubismo, à Ashcan School e ao expressionismo. Para alcance do objetivo, trabalhando com a ideia de que é possível construir uma historia cultural/antropologia histórica da imagem (BURKE, 2004), adotou-se o modelo de análise e interpretação de Melo (2009). Cremos ser possível lançar olhares sobre o esporte a partir de sua inserção na construção do imaginário moderno, bem como o oposto: prospectar a modernidade desde a prática esportiva. Ao final concluiu-se que o quadro multifacetado de aproximação dessas vanguardas com o esporte nos ajuda a ter uma noção de como a manifestação estava se configurando e compondo seu quadro de popularização.Considering that the art movements have a certain degree of inner coherence regarding a peculiar form of establishing a connection between the historical context and the art making itself, this study aims at discussing the presence of sport in works of art related to cubism, the Aschan School and to expressionism. In order to reach that goal, working with the idea that it is possible to make a cultural/anthropological history of image (BURKE, 2004), we have adopted Melo's (2009) model of analysis and interpretation. We believe it is possible to cast new visions about sport from its insertion in the making of the modern imaginary, as well as the opposite: to prospect modernity itself from the sport practice. At the end we have concluded that the multifaceted picture of the approximation of those avant-gardes with sport might help us understand how the manifestation was being shaped, within their popularization set up.
