LIBERALIZATION OF CRIMINAL RESPONSIBILITY AND PUNISHMENT IN RUSSIA: COMPULSORY LABOUR INSTEAD OF IMPRISONMENT

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problems of liberalization of criminal responsibility. Federal Law of the Russian Federation of December 7, 2011 # 420-ФЗ "On the changes in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation" introduced compulsory labour into the punishment system instead of imprisonment. It is proposed to develop the sphere of application of alternative to imprisonment, using the mechanism of progressive system of service of sentence.
