Occupation and Photo-Luminescent Properties of Eu~(2+) in Na_2Mg_5Si_(12)O_(30)

The New series of Na_2Mg_(5(1-x))Eu_(5x)Si_(12)O_(30)(0.001≤x≤0.06) optical materials are proposed in this paper.Doping concentration dependent (x=0.001~0.06) structure and photo-luminescent properties of the materials were deeply investigated.The occupation of Eu~(2+)ions in the matrix material was explored in a certain doping concentration.The formation of single phase compound was verified through the X-ray diffraction studies (XRD).To confirm the photoluminescent properties,the photo-luminescence (PL) and PL excitation (PLE) spectra,and PL decay curves were investigated in details.All results indicate that Na_2Mg_5Si_(12)O_(30):Eu~(2+)phosphor can be synthesized by solid-state method,and can be effectively excited by UV-NUV light to produce strong fluorescence.The luminescent color is determined by the doping concentration of Eu~(2+)ions in the substrate.
