YAM (Dioscorea sp.) CLONES YIELD IN DOURADOS (MS) PRODUÇÃO DE CLONES DE CARÁ (Dioscorea sp.) EM DOURADOS (MS)

Abstract

<!-- @page { margin: 2cm } --> <p class="western" align="justify"><span style="font-weight: normal;">The aim of this work was to know yield characteristics of Mimoso, Caramujo, Roxo, Pezão and Florida, yam clones under environmental conditions in Dourados-MS. The results regarding to yield characteristics showed that it has been worked with two groups of clones: one group constituted by Caramujo and Pezão that produces rizhomes and tubers and the other one that produces only rizhomes. As far as rizhomes shape is concerned, Florida and Mimoso clones produced eggshape of regular conformation rizhomes. Total reached productivity showed that Caramujo was the most productive (38.077 t.ha</span>^{<span style="font-weight: normal;">-1</span>}<span style="font-weight: normal;">) and Mimoso the least (19.187 t.ha</span>^{<span style="font-weight: normal;">-1</span>}<span style="font-weight: normal;">). Caramujo tubers presented round shape what induces to make confusion with Taro. In quantitative terms, Caramujo produced 235.88% (24.217 t.ha</span>^{<span style="font-weight: normal;">-1</span>}<span style="font-weight: normal;">) more tubers than Pezão.</span></p> <p class="western" align="justify"><span style="font-weight: normal;">KEY-WORDS: Yam (</span><em><span style="font-weight: normal;">Dioscorea</span></em><span style="font-weight: normal;"> sp.); productivity; rizhomes; tubers.</span></p> <!-- @page { margin: 2cm } --> <p class="western" align="justify"><span style="font-weight: normal;">O objetivo do trabalho foi conhecer as características produtivas dos clones de cará Mimoso, Caramujo, Roxo, Pezão e Flórida, quando cultivados em condições de Dourados (MS). Os resultados obtidos mostraram que utilizaram-se dois grupos de clones, quanto às características produtivas: um grupo formado por Caramujo e Pezão, que produz rizomas e tubérculos aéreos, e o outro que produz apenas rizomas. Quanto ao formato dos rizomas, observou-se que os clones Flórida e Mimoso produziram rizomas ovais de conformação regular. As produções totais obtidas mostraram que o Caramujo foi o mais produtivo (38,077 t.ha</span>^{<span style="font-weight: normal;">-1</span>}<span style="font-weight: normal;">) e o Mimoso foi o menos produtivo (19,187 t.ha</span>^{<span style="font-weight: normal;">-1</span>}<span style="font-weight: normal;">). Os tubérculos do Caramujo apresentaram formato arredondado, fato que deve induzir a confundi-lo com o inhame.
