Cambios y continuidades en el pacto colonial en la Amazonía. El caso de los indios Chasutas del Huallaga Medio a finales del siglo XIX
Abstract
This article explains the occurrence of an uprising in Chasuta in 1893 as the result of what local Indians perceived as the infringement of the colonial pact that guarantied their rights and stipulated their duties vis à vis the local administration. It suggests that the dissolution of such a pact led to the social disintegration of the Chasuta as a people and that it accelerated those processes driven by the rubber boom.
