In various host countries, the Huguenot Refuges contributed to the diffusion of utilitarian plants but also to the culture of flowers and to the development of botany. Even if a clear distinction cannot always be made, the contribution of the second wave of Huguenot Refuges (after 1685) should be differentiated from the first wave of Huguenot Refuges (16th century). The diverse elements of the cultural history of the French Reform, gathered here through the perspective of memorial appropriation, allows us to consider not only the importance of the historical material but also the need for further research, including the theological aspects of this chapter in history.
