Adoção e circulação de crianças na atualidade
Abstract
This interview intends to update some questions discussed by the anthropologist and researcher Claudia Fonseca, author of Caminhos da Adoção (1995), an important book that shares an innovative perspective on the care and circulation of children in brazilian working class. In this interview, conducted by professor Agostina Gentili, it is possible to understand the starting point of the researcher, and the way in which it was possible to question and review a reified outlook on poor childhood that saw in the circulation of children an indication of abandonment and lack of family structure. We can also learn of the research’s results in terms of an analysis of legal structures of institutions and public policies in the field of child protection, as well as considerations on “brazilian style adoption” and hierarchies of gender and class present in family dynamics.
