Inguinal hernia containing hydrocele in female pediatric patient
Abstract
Pediatric inguinal hernias are a very common diagnosis encountered by pediatric surgeons with an overall incidence of 1–4% in all infants. In rare cases, a fluid filled cyst may be encountered in the inguinal canal, known as a hydrocele. We present the case of a 4-year-old female who presented with an incarcerated inguinal hernia containing a hydrocele which was subsequently removed.
