Our purpose here is to show how the famous Catalan writer Pere Gimferrer (born in 1945) evoques the years that followed the Civil War in Barcelona, i.e. the catastrophic period after the war. In two conferences that have been published, he analyzes « impostures » of the franquism and the modalities of the « crucifixion » of Catalan language during the dictatorship. The consequences of the catastrophe are also visible through the evocation of the author’s adolescence in two books of poems: Els miralls and L'espai desert. Pere Gimferrer is both historian and poet. His thought is incarnated in two forms of writing rigurous and full of inventivity.
