Abstract

Islam proves to be a complete code of living. That is why it guides humanity in every possible field of this World. Same is the case for the financial sphere of man’s life. Paper currency, which was not an option in the past, now emerged as the most used exchange material in the market. And being Muslims, we must look upon the legal rulings while getting into market. In this regard, this research is conducted to collect the views of Muslim scholars and jurists about currency note, it’s status and limitations and prohibitions being attached to it. There come four most important thoughts and views about status of notes and this paper discusses them in detail along with different branching issues. All the opinions about currency have been given by a group of splendid scholars so every opinion has some strong base and impact. Also, scholars have provided rationale to make their opinions strong. Considering this, each of them is included in the discussion and the research concludes that currency notes are most acceptably the same permanent medium of currency as was gold and silver used in the past. Thus, all the rulings attached to that mode of currency are now applicable to this medium of currency too.
