Since the beginning of time, the Catholic Church has built the entity Devil as responsible for all the evil in the world. Such representation has persisted over the years, changed and resignified, reaching today the most recent construction of the Devil through Netflix's Lucifer series. Given this scenario, the objective of this article is to understand the effects and reasons for the success of the series. We seek to relate the historical Devil to the character of the series; identify which characteristics of contemporary society stand out in Lucifer; and analyze the reconstruction of the Devil's imaginary. To achieve these objectives, we used the case study methodology, carrying out an analysis that sought to obtain new perspectives and reflections between the object and the theory.
