An occult laryngeal foreign body in a 2-year-old child: A case report

Abstract

Laryngeal impaction of a foreign body is a rare condition. Most of the foreign bodies aspirated pass through in and lodge lower in the airways.Diagnosis of a laryngeal foreign body can be challenging, especially if it's small, radiolucent and when there is incomplete airway obstruction.We are reporting a case of laryngeal foreign body in a 2-year-old child that was misdiagnosed as laryngitis. The clinical presentation, investigation and management are discussed.
