Spontaneous duodenal perforation
Abstract
Duodenal perforation is a rare cause of peritonitis in children; we present here a rare case of an 8-year-old boy who was admitted to emergency room for diffuse abdominal pain. On exam he was anxious with evidence signs of peritonitis. The frontal thoraco-abdominal x-ray showed the presence of pneumoperitoneum. The laparotomy revealed a duodenal perforation, treated by direct suturing and omental patch.
