IDENTITY OF WEST EUROPEAN URBAN COMMUNITIES IN THE 17TH CENTURY

Abstract

The paper deals with various evidences regarding the group identity of West European towns in the 17th century and its diverse manifestations in numerous sociocultural urban communities. It makes a basis for the analysis of social interaction peculiarities in different European countries and regions. Various trends in preserving and transforming social relations of urban communities during this critical period are also demonstrated.
