Abstract

Virtual fashion shows and digital cover models: the dividing line between the physical and the virtual world is increasingly blurred. How does it offer opportunities for vulnerable textiles and clothing in museum collections? Is it providing a chance to breathe new life into fashion heritage and the craft and knowledge associated with them? Could these developments be the convergence of the worlds of physical and digital design and add value to each other? This article explores several possibilities of ways that new developments and digital techniques synergise with a museum collection.
