Efficiency of logistics services foreign trade: the case of the Port of Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico

The international trend to improve processes and intensifying competition among companies around the globe has pushed levels of competitiveness and efficiency of logistics services that are part of the foreign trade system. Particularly in logistics, efficiency is an essential factor if one seeks not only to meet but to exceed expectations of the process that makes international trade. Hence the research question arises: How do foreign trade experts perceive logistic services (storage, transport, customs administration and time) at the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán México? To answer this question surveys were conducted to 68 specialists in the area that according to the company, type of company, area development and function allowed to obtain the information necessary to take a broad view regarding the variables analyzed.
