Three new species of carabid beetles belonging to the subgenus Petrophilus Chaudoir, 1838 of the genus Pterostichus Bonelli, 1810 are described from the Mongolian Altai Mountain Range within Xinjiang-Uygur Autonomous Region of China: P. kapanovi sp. n. from the right bank of the Kom (= Hemu) River, similar to members of the P. altaicus species group but differing in the shape of pronotum: its lateral margins concave posteriorly and hind angles rounded; P. huguai sp. n. from mountains in the Burqin River valley, similar to P. magus (Mannerheim, 1825) in the endophallus structure but differing in having smaller body size, narrower lateral border of the pronotum, lacking of prescutellar pore of elytra, one pair of setae on the anal sternite of male, and narrow apical lamella of the aedeagus in dorsal view; and P. mongoloaltaicus sp. n. from the mountains to the East of the Koektogai (= Keketuohai) village and environment of the Keshtau Mountain (Qinghe County), similar to P. seriatus (Chaudoir, 1850), but differing in the larger body size, lateral margins of the pronotum less arcuate, its anterior angles more salient, median lobe of the aedeagus less sharply bent basally, right paramera narrowing to the apex.
