MODELOS UTILIZADOS PELA EDUCAÇÃO A DISTÂNCIA: UMA SÍNTESE CENTRADA NAS INSTITUIÇÕES DE ENSINO SUPERIOR BRASILEIRAS
Abstract
The article aims to present the different models of Distance Education practices used by Higher Education institutions in Brazil. For this purpose, the methodology used characterizes this research as theoretical and empirical, since its approach is classified as quantitative. The unit of analysis chosen was the totality of Higher Education Institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education in 2010, which characterizes the study as census for this universe. Analyses were based on primary data, acquired through contacts made with the institutions on websites, chats and emails. As a result, it is observed that the institutions that were accredited in 2010 for the distance education modality, the semi-attendance model is the most used, with 75%, followed by the virtual model (14%) then, the tele-education model (7% ) and, finally, the hybrid model (3%). It is concluded that distance education in its practice, has assumed a multimediatic character, given that the "hegemonic" model used by the institutions of this study has in its essence such feature.
