Nurses’ perceptions of the sexual and reproductive health nursing consultation

Objective: To understand the perception of nurses who work in Primary Health Care in Icapuí about the nursing consultation on sexual and reproductive health. Method: Qualitative, descriptive and interpretative research with data collected through semi-structured interviews, analyzed and represented through the Discourse of the Collective Subject with nurses from Icapuí, as well as a socio-demographic questionnaire. Results: It revealed that the research participants perceive the moment of the sexual and reproductive health consultation as a space of integrality in which all aspects of the user should be considered. Final considerations: It was perceived that difficulties persist in the implementation of good consultation in sexual and reproductive health arising from structural issues resulting from the devaluation and dismantling of public policies and the Unified Health System. Regarding cultural issues, the denial of womens sexuality making it difficult for them to play a leading role in this important part of everyones life.
