Corporate Social Responsibility: Initiative for Development in Latin America

This paper examines different theories about development in Latin America territory and their relationship with a Management theory (CSR). The objective is to analyze how the local concerns of the Latin American region have been annexed to the global model in business practices. It is based on a bibliographic review with a descriptive approach, from the cultural point of view of the subject of study in this geographical area. The main conclusions of the analysis demonstrate an evolution in the interpretation of development in Latin America and highlight the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility as an initiative to go hand in hand with the search for development from a situated perspective, thought from the reality of the Latin American regional territory and its specific needs.
