In order to improve the tribological properties of AerMet100 steel, graphite/MoS2/AerMet100 composites were prepared applying powder metallurgy process with AerMet100 steel powder serving as the matrix, and MoS2 and graphite serving as the solid lubricant. Scanning electron microscope (SEM), X - ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) were used to analyze the microscopic morphology, phase composition and contents of the elements of samples, and the friction performance of the composites was tested by the HT1000 high temperature friction and wear testing machine. Meanwhile, the effects of the contents of MoS2 and graphite on the mechanical properties and tribological properties of AerMet100 matrix composites were studied, and the anti - friction and wear - resistant mechanism was also discussed. Results showed that with the increase of graphite content, the mechanical properties and tribological properties of the composites declined. When 6.0 wt.% MoS2 and 2.0 wt.% graphite were added, the tribological properties of AerMet100 matrix composites was the optimal mainly due to the formation of hard phase carbides and lubricating phase sulfides.
