Vidéographie descriptive : le travelling. Esquisse méthodologique pour une approche paysagère
Abstract
This article is based on a PhD research on the incorporation of videographic protocoles into the practice of urban planning and landscaping. Here we detail the specific case of the process of film travelling and the way it can complete the perception of landscape as seen from a daily train ride. What kind of information the video is likely to bring out ? How can this information be used ? Building on the concept of image-mouvement (Deleuze) and the technique of ‘compositing’, we will see how the video allows us to understand ambiance phenomena without ever leaving behind the question of duration and experience, favouring image to word, movement to perspective, and immersion to intellectualization.
