Ructure in journalistic newspaper narrative and the axiological assessment of the event described. The empirical data provide the conclusion that the direct speech marks cooperative interaction in representing factual information, while bringing to the forefront the emotional component of the narrative. Both the axiological consonance and the polyphony can be observed. Indirect speech reveals neutral axiological tone, free indirect speech expresses the unity in axiological assessment made by two subjects of the communicative act - the author of the text and the character of the narrative.
