Telescopic genioplasty: A new concept to reshape the chin

Abstract

The genioplasty is a versatile technique for correcting facial deformities. we have designed an osteotomy that reduces the width of the chin during advancement in order to maintain the delicate proportions of the face and the notch formation in the parasinfisis is avoided. Minimally invasive approach is allowed due to the design of this osteotomy which reduces the risk of nerve injury. We believe that this variation of the original technique can be a very useful alternative for the maxillofacial surgeon.
