Th e works of composers from the Republic of Moldova during the postwar period refl ect a tendency and interest in experimentation with sound and various techniques, in expanding the genre-space and in creatively approaching diff erent musical instruments, which belong to both academic and folk music. Among such instruments is the trumpet. Th e chamber works for this instrument occupy a special place in the trumpet repertoire. We intend to make an analysis of the songs Romance for trumpet and piano by Oleg Negruta and concert Rondo for trumpet and piano by Arcadii Luxemburg, in reference to capitalizing on and using the technical-expressive means of the trumpet, as well as their treatment in relation to the musical dramaturgy and conceptual content.
