The article examines the complex geopolitical situation of global instability forming at the end of the 2010s in relation to the aftermath of the Soviet Union’s collapse and the formation of a new concept for the development of civilization. The dramatic repercussions of the “Parade of Sovereignties” are uncovered, as is the frailty of new integrated entities. The article describes the unpredictable nature of the global future and the stabilizing role of national governments in global politics. It poses the questions of who determines the new world order, whose image will it take, what will the new geopolitical realities be, the basis of humanity’s moral solidarity, the “spiritual” basis for the future of civilization, and which models for the future of the world will be maintained and used as a guide for development. The author looks at the specifics of the transformation of Belorussian society and formulates several lessons on previous changes.
