The article deals with the peculiarities of the formation of a personality under the conditions of education basing on the theoretical data on the structure of the development of a personality (biological, psychological, and social). The meaning of the notions education and upbringing as purposeful administerial parts of a man's living environment is uncovered. The analysis of the publications on the personality study issues is represented, where the notion of personality is regarded as a basic component of the pedagogical process, which is the nucleus of the humanization of education and upbringing at the actual stage of the development of the pedagogical science, which in turn leads to the reformation of the educational system on the whole.
