This work analyses the history in the deals with professorial education of the Escola Normal in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, between 1908 and 1920 when Educational Reforms (Law n. 249, November 22nd of 1907 and Law n. 405/1916) which consolidated the Educator's profession. The research is based on documents such as meeting reports, Official minutes and Public Instruction Director's reports, Laws, Decrees, Governmental Messages and newspaper articles from A República and the Rio Grande do Norte Professorial Association- Pedagogium Periodical (1921-1925). Thus, the study evidences that public policies privilege professorial education in the Escola Normal of Natal, considered a place for pedagogical practices that produce knowledge and legitimate instruction.
