The film and the file: context and design of the documentary "Sobral no plural"

Abstract

This article discusses the concept of aesthetics in the documentary "Sobral no Plural," presented at the Second Visualidades in November 2010 - event organized by Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú (UVA) as a way to encourage the production of videos and exhibitions that combine image and research. From a practical activity already performed by the authors of this paper, the aim is to discuss the conception of documentary and the false opposition between real and imagination that drives some insight into this type of imaging technique. We also intend to discuss how they documents of an audiovisual file should be used; proposal from the Laboratório das Memórias e das Práticas Cotidianas - Labome/UVA.
