Economic sustainability and the environment in Colombia: many regulations and little applicability
Abstract
Sustainable development is an alternative that aims to improve the level of quality of life and ensure an appropriate sustenance for nature, to generate economic growth, without disturbing the ecosystem, through social and ecological sustainability, essential for long-term survival. term. Colombia is rich in natural resources and is affected by environmental degradation due to processes of pollution and deforestation, whose causes are centered on the inadequate state administration of processes for the protection of these resources and the economic interest in quickly exiting underdevelopment. This article analyzes whether Colombia is implementing models and primers for the evaluation of environmental costs in state companies. The Colombian state and the environmental authorities have developed policies and instruments for environmental evaluation, but in an isolated manner, without obeying coordinated guidelines of general environmental policy for the adequate management of the protection and preservation of the natural resources and the environment of the country.
