Acute onset fever with altered sensorium is labelled by WHO as acute encephalitis syndrome.[1] There are many causes of such presentation such as bacterial, viral,parasitic, autoimmune, metabolic etc. Most of the cases neurotropic viruses are agents for CNS infection. We report a case of scrub typhus as a cause of acute encephalitic syndrome.
