The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Zn(H2O)6](C10H5O8)2·2C11H6N2O·2H2O, contains one half of the complex cation with the ZnII ion located on an inversion center, a monovalent 2,4,5-tricarboxybenzoate (1,2,4,5-BTC) counter-anion, a 4,5-diazafluoren-9-one (DAFO) molecule and an uncoordinated water molecule. In the crystal structure, O—H...O and O—H...N hydrogen bonds link the cations, anions and water molecules into a three-dimensional network.
