Influencia del reformismo religioso en el uso de la lengua vulgar
Abstract
Las corrientes humanistas y religiosas que recorrieron la Europa renacentista fomentaron el desarrollo de la lengua vulgar, tales como el Erasmismo que canalizó y alentó los deseos de cambio en los valores religiosos y culturales de dicho periodo y las corrientes religiosas, especialmente las alumbristas, y cuyo núcleo doctrinal está relacionado con el Iluminismo. Juan de Valdés, Martín Lutero y el tanden Casiodoro de la Reina/Cipriano de Valera, aún salvando las notables diferencias que median entre ellos, contribuyeron sobremanera al desarrollo de la lengua vulgar, en un caso la lengua castellana y en el otro la lengua alemana. Lo que les aproxima al uso que hicieron de la lengua vernácula es el itinerario común que siguieron y que compartieron: su apuesta por el humanismo y su visión reformista de la cuestión religiosa. Abastract: The humanistic and religious currents spreading throughout Renaissance Europe encouraged the development of the vernacular, as had that of Erasmus which canalized and fomented desires for change in the religious and cultural values of that period and the religious movements, especially that of the enlightened thinkers whose doctrinal nucleus is linked to the Age of Reason. Juan de Valdés, Martin Luther and the tandem Casiodoro de la Reina/Cipriano de Valera, whilst acknowledging the considerable differences between them, contributed significantly to the development of a common language, in one case that of Castillian Spanish and the other the German tongue. What brings them close to the use made of the vernacular is the common itinerary followed and shared: their commitment to humanism and their reformist vision on the religious question.
