doi: 10.12957/geouerj.2016.19472 Leisure public spaces are targets of debate among urbanists, sociologists and geographers, besides being in the field of discussion of urban planning. Such locals are currently potential areas for socialization, and attend different uses and concerns in the cities, serving, also, as real estate valuation. This research aims at analyzing the leisure space produced by hiking trail placed at the external area of Parque do Ingá, in Maringá (PR), highlighting the profile of the users that go to that public space. The methodology used consisted in: bibliographical review, research in loco, qualitative and quantitative survey, and a questionnaire with semi structured questions. Among the results obtained with the interviews, are: predominance of male goers, high education level in most of the users, and income predominantly between two and four minimum wages. Leisure was identified as the main reason of attraction for the public.
