Between 2004 and 2012, the CGT Argentina was united and established an organic articulation with the Kirchner governments. This stage was characterized by the recovery of the economic-corporative bargaining power of the trade union movement and its recomposition as a political actor. This article analyzes this complex relationship and reflects on the role played by the most dynamic sector of Argentine trade unionism during all the stage. Three moments are analized: 1) The conditions that made it possible cooperation between Peronist government and CGT after 2003; 2) The conflict between goverment and farmers in 2008, which caused social antagonism, weakened the government, strengthened the unions and provoked disputes about the vision of the popular national; 3) It opened a confrontation of the CGT with the government around the economic distribution and political power in Peronism since 2012.
