Re-thinking the use of drawing for documentation and conservation: reflections on the Spanish town of Blanca.
Abstract
To know and to document a city it is necessary to carry out a careful analysis of the urban reality which is a complex phenomenon because it is characterized by the superimposition of architecture and green areas, buildings and empty spaces permeating each other. The drawing of a city including all its important features enables us to really know it. To understand the exterior or interior aspects inside the different architectonic compositions also requires great sensibility. In this paper I’ll illustrate the watercolour drawings of the city of Blanca in Spain, which were executed in a Representation Seminar.
