Education and Social Sciences: An Inescapable Encounter?

This article presents a reflection on the link between education and social sciences in the training of graduates and the consolidation of this relationship in the graduating professional profile. The curricula of 12 bachelor’s degrees, 12 graduation profiles and three interviews with experts in education and socio-educational intervention were analyzed. A strong link between education and social sciences was found in the graduation profiles of graduates, as well as a high representation of social sciences subjects in the curricula. However, factors inherent to the educational system and the forms of knowledge organization in the curricular structure hinder this relationship, therefore, the teacher training that today’s world requires.
