Terminology Management Systems for the development of (specialised) dictionaries: a focus on WordSmith Tools and Termstar XV

Abstract

Reviewed by Nuria Edo Marzá Universitat Jaume I, Spain This review aims to focus on the analysis of the technical possibilities offered by two of the main Terminology Management Systems (TMSs) – the corpus-query program WordSmith Tools (currently in its 6.0 version) and the multilingual terminological database TermStar XV. Subsequently, they will be compared with other similar systems that are currently available, as well as in terms of their potential for the development of (specialised) dictionaries.
