The important role of automation control in instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) system was simply described for reducing manpower and radiation dose, improving laboratory analytical capacity and measuring accuracy. By comparing and analyzing the latest technology of the integrated automation system in the advanced INAA laboratory, the optimal design of each process of the INAA system was given. INAA automation system could achieve integrated control such as batch sample irradiation, decay, measurement and analysis, etc., which would provide reference values for other INAA laboratories.
