Measuring phenomena such as globalization or economic inequality is often considered an inaccurate approach, subject to a high degree of uncertainty and, why not, is even seen as a deadlock. However, scientists have created tools to measure these phenomena, giving them the scientific dimension needed to use them as a basis for building strong economic theories. This article aims to present the types of methods and techniques used by specialists in measuring economic inequalities, as well as a comparative analysis between what could be called the ”present„ and ”future” of measuring inequalities in Economics. The elaboration of this paper involved documentation, information and synthesis, leading to a systematization of future perspectives on the topic of inequalities, one of the biggest global challenges tackled from two perspectives: within and between countries.
