This communication articulates several points of views from practice and research on the state of corrective phonetics in second language learning. After a first survey discussing teacher’s training and practices on oral and its constituents, we question the methodological influences leading to the current status of corrective phonetics as well as the field of study itself and its actors (teacher/learner), via recent research on the imitation of prosodic parameters and the link between oral fluency and reading.
