Imaginal characters of Palaearctic species of Adoxomyia cinerascens (Loew, 1873) and Oriental species of A. heminopla (Wiedemann, 1819) are improved. The morphology and biology on larva of Adoxomyia cinerascens with additional data on larva of A. heminopla are studied for the first time. Imago are well distinguished by the structure of antennae, pollination of frons and position of spines on scutellum, larvae by the structure of integument and the topography of setae
