The Roles of Judicial Officers and Court Administrators in the UK Supreme Court
Abstract
This article provides a brief historical summary of the process that culminated in the creation of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom (SCUK), highlighting important changes in the relevant laws and regulations and the institutional framework within which authority for final appellate review of lower court decisions was and currently is vested. It also examines the administrative organization of the SCUP and where authority for key elements of court administration at that court is vested and how, for practical purposes, the SCUK is administered.
