The aim is to develop methodological approaches to the study of the work style and temperament of the head, contributing to the increase of competitive advantages of pharmaceutical organizations. Materials and methods. As a studied phenomenon, questions were considered to determine the leadership style, the temperament of the leader and the psychology of the behavior of the leader in the conditions of managerial decision-making. To assess the personal qualities and professional characteristics of the heads of pharmacy organizations, a sociological study was conducted using the self-assessment method. The specificity of this technique lies in the fact that it allows you to determine management styles not using the method of expert assessments, but using self-assessment. Results. The values of the manager's work style, the manager's temperament and the psychology of the manager's behavior in the conditions of managerial decision-making are studied. It is established that the management style of a manager is determined by the component that dominates in his personality - this is confirmed by studies of the relationship of the manager with subordinates. Individuals with well-defined properties related to only one type of temperament have been identified and are relatively rare. Much more often people are characterized by mixed types of temperament, characterized by the presence of properties characteristic of different types of temperament with the predominance of one of them. Conclusion. The results of the study showed that in the behavior of each manager there are common features inherent in different management styles and temperaments with the dominant role of any one of them. The most effective is the skillful and timely use by the head of each style and temperament, their combination, depending on the current managerial situation.
