SYNTACTIC CONSTRUCTIONS OF COMPARATIVE MODALITY WITH THE POETONYM COMPONENT IN POSTMODER DISCOURSE BY MARIA MATIOS

Abstract

The article explores the structural varieties of syntactic constructions of comparative modality with the poetonym component in the postmodern prose of Maria Matios, the specificity of their functioning in artistic discourse. The leading methods are the context-interpretation method of linguistic analysis. It is proved that the use of methods of affective syntax enhances the expressive potential of the poetonym, promotes the realization of their occasional connotative meaning. It is demonstrated that the syntactic constructions of comparative modality in the prose of the non-classical paradigm function as an element of the language game and representatives of the author’s picture of the writer’s world. We consider the complex study of the syntactical means of the expressiveness of the poetonyms in the artistic speech of M. Matios to be promising. The results of the research carried out are partially placed in the Dictionary of Poetonyms of Artistic Prose by M. Matios.
