Abstract A transmission phase‐shifted metasurface (PSM) array has been proposed for non‐diffractive beam deflection. A PSM element consists of two identical semicircular rings and an I‐shaped structure, which is symmetrically printed on both sides of the F4B substrate. According to the geometric optics, the phase distribution on the metasurface can be obtained. To achieve the desired phase distribution, the metasurface elements rotated at different angles are rearranged, since the phase of the transmitted wave is manipulated by rotating the metasurface element. Then, the standard horn is used to produce the sphere wave across the proposed metasurface array for the non‐diffractive beam deflection. Simulated (measured) results show that the inclined non‐diffractive beam can be generated at a tilted angle of 35° (34.9°) with a maximum non‐diffractive distance of 100 mm (97.5 mm) at 10 GHz. The proposed metasurface array has the advantages of non‐diffractive beam deflection, low sidelobes and miniaturisation.
