Significance of somatization in case of chronic gastroduodenal diseases in children was studied. Using the SOMS screening test 83 children with pathology of upper gastrointestinal tract were examined. It is found that somatization plays an important role in the formation of chronic gastroduodenal pathology in children. The most obvious phenomenon of somatization was detected in a group of children with functional dyspepsia, less obvious — in that one with destructive diseases of the gastroduodenal tract. Somatoform disorders are more often found among parents of children who are predisposed to somatization. This fact can suggest the role of family factors in their formation.
