The molecule of the title compound, C16H13NO2, is almost planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.013 (2) Å from the best plane; the dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 1.06 (1)°. In the crystal, molecules are linked through weak intramolecular C—H...O interactions, forming chains running parallel to [10overline{1}].
