The purpose of this article is to find out some comparisons or comparisons between the science of Badi 'Ibn Mu'taz and contemporary Badi' science. This study uses a qualitative method of literature study. Qualitative method is a method that produces descriptive data in the form of written words from books related to research problems. The results of this discussion, the author summarizes that in the science of Badi' Ibn Mu'taz discusses the eighteen main principles of his book material and divides it into two chapters. The first chapter is called al-Badi' which contains 5 rules. While the second chapter is named Mahasinu al-Kalam, which contains 13 rules in it. As for contemporary Badi' science, there are two parts, namely Muhassinat Ma'nawiyah, which contains 5 rules and Muhassinat Lafdziyah which contains 3 rules. Badi' science is clearer and more detailed and easier to understand than Badi' Ibn Mu'taz science because in the past not many people used this theory and did not explain some of the definitions of these terms, and only mentioned examples.
